글로벌 의료기기 전문 제조기업 ㈜코러스트가 6월 12일~13일 양일간 ‘K-Business day in Dubai 전시회’에 참가했다.
코러스트는 국내 순수 기술로 개발된 고빈도 흉벽진동기 ‘토닥이(수출명 : CAREWAY)’를 중동 지역에 선보이는
유의미한 시간을 가졌다고 전했다.
이번 전시회에는 중소벤처기업부 이영 장관과 UAE 경제부 H.E. Abudulla Bin Touq Al Marri 장관이 현장에 방문해,
한국 회사 대표로 토닥이를 소개하는 시간을 가졌다. 이영 장관은 검증된 기술력의 토닥이에 큰 관심을 보이며,
“중동 지역 호흡기 관련 시장을 선도하는 제품이 될 수 있을 것”이라고 격려했다.

토닥이는 고빈도 흉벽진동요법을 통해, 폐 침전물과 폐∙기관지 점액질, 미세먼지 등에 전단 효과를
발생시키고, 폐 침전물의 점도를 묽게 만들어 배출시켜주는 의료기기이다.
지난 2013년 국내 최초로 고빈도 흉벽진동기를 개발해 상용화된 제품으로, 이미 국내 종합병원 및
대학병원에서 기술력과 효용성을 인정받아 국내 점유율 약 50%를 상회하며 미국 기업의 제품과
비등한 경쟁 구도를 갖추고 있다.
코러스트 관계자는 “중동 지역 호흡기 의료기기 시장으로의 적극적인 진출을 위해 오는 10월
사우디아라비아에서 개최 예정인 Global Health 전시회에 참가해, 이미 토닥이가 설치된 병원들과
미팅 및 중동 지역 신규 독점 유통 업체 발굴 추진을 통해 매출을 확대할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
Korust Co., Ltd., a global medical device manufacturing company, announced that they participated in
the "K-Business Day in Dubai Exhibition" held on June 12th and 13th of 2023, showcasing CAREWAY,
the high-frequency chest wall oscillation(HFCWO) device developed with Korust’s patented technology
in the Middle East region.
During this exhibition, South Korea’s minister of SMEs and Startups, Lee Young, and UAE’s minister of
Economy, H.E. Abudulla Bin Touq Al Marri, visited the booth. Korust’s representative was chosen to
make a presentation of CAREWAY among many Korean companies participated in the exhibition.
Minister Lee Young showed great interest in CAREWAY’s proven technological capabilities and encouraged
the company by stating that it could become a leading product in the respiratory market in the Middle East region.
CAREWAY is a medical device that utilizes high-frequency chest wall oscillation(HFCWO) therapy to generate
shearing effects on pulmonary secretions, mucus in the lungs and bronchi, and fine dust, thereby reducing
the viscosity of pulmonary secretions and facilitating their expulsion.
It was the first high-frequency chest wall oscillation(HFCWO) device developed in South Korea and
has been commercialized since 2013. It has already gained recognition for its technological capabilities
and effectiveness in domestic general hospitals and university hospitals,
surpassing a domestic market share of approximately 50% and establishing a competitive position similar
to that of products from American companies.
A representative from Korust stated, "To actively enter the respiratory medical device market
in the Middle East region, we plan to participate in the Global Health Exhibition scheduled to be held in
Saudi Arabia in October 2023. Through meetings with hospitals already equipped with CAREWAY and
the discovery of new exclusive distribution partners in the Middle East region, we aim to expand our market."
